How To Tell If You Need Drain Repairs
At New Canadian Drain & Plumbing we are the experts at dealing with all kinds of problems related to drain and plumbing systems. All of our plumbers and technicians are professionally trained and qualified individuals, and we continually undergo retraining to keep up with the latest trends and technologies available in the industry.
We often get called in to do jobs that cost our clients more time and money than should be necessary. Why is this so? We find that many people are not aware of the right time to enlist the services of a professional who is qualified to deal with drain repairs. Instead, problems are allowed to escalate, and when we are finally called in, the necessary repairs are more extensive than they would have been if we had been contacted at an earlier time.
Common Problems to Look For
The drains and pipes in your home undergo extensive usage. It is something that we don’t often think about, but just take a couple of minutes to consider how many activities require the use and disposal of water. Here are a few of the more common drain repair problems and tell-tale signs to look out for:
- Slow draining. It is so tempting to ignore this little problem and just hope that it will go away. After all, the water in the sink is still draining, isn’t it? It is just taking a little more time than usual. Think again, however; it is best to call for a drain repair plumber to fix this sooner rather than later. This way, you will avoid more complications further down the track.
- Pay attention to water spots. If you notice any drips, leaks, or puddles below your drain traps, this is something that needs to be further investigated. You shouldn’t let your drains get clogged or damaged beyond repair. It is better to maintain them well and get them cleaned or cleared as necessary.
- Malfunctioning appliances. Perhaps your dishwasher is not draining well, or your laundry doesn’t seem to be getting cleaned properly. This might be due to clogged drains which are causing some dirty water to remain in your washing machine.
- Leaks. If you notice leaks at any joint or part of your piping and drainage system, it might be time to call for drain repairs. Perhaps it will just be a matter of applying new sealing tape, or perhaps you will need some piping replaced. If the leaks are in your basement, however, act immediately before the leaks and resulting dampness cause more serious problems like mildew.
